Billy Gilbane and Jeffrey Tousey hosted special guests to hear the latest
in world-class health care
On Tuesday, April 30, 2024, guests gathered at the private residence of
Billy Gilbane and Jeffrey Tousey to hear from Amit Rastogi, MD, MHCM,
President and CEO of
Jupiter Medical Center, and several of the hospital’s notable physicians. The intimate
reception featured cocktails, hors d’oeuvres and an engaging discussion
about the latest in world-class health care, including the not-for-profit’s
recent news.
Dr. Rastogi was joined by Jon S. Du Bois, MD, board-certified medical oncologist
and Program Leader of Gastrointestinal, Neuroendocrine and Cutaneous Cancers;
Michael Sabbah, MD, board-certified interventional cardiologist; and Pam
Canter, Vice President and Chief Nursing Officer.
Traci Simonsen, Chief Philanthropy Officer of the
Jupiter Medical Center Foundation, welcomed the crowd and expressed appreciation for the gracious hosts
who opened their home for the reception.
“We are grateful to be here with you tonight,” said Simonsen.
“Thank you for the opportunity to share our latest news with you,
including how Jupiter Medical Center is the top-rated health care system
in our region, our history, and what is ahead for our hospital as we continue
to evolve to meet the demands of our community.”
Dr. Rastogi then welcomed the crowd by sharing Jupiter Medical Center’s
history, awards, and primary service areas before introducing the physicians
and Canter, who spoke more in-depth about the quality of health care Jupiter
Medical Center provides.
“Jupiter Medical Center has rapidly evolved from a small community
hospital to the No. 1 rated regional medical center in our area,”
said Dr. Rastogi. “Our growth is anchored in our belief that world-class
health care should be close to home. To meet the needs of our community,
we have been expanding the depth and breadth of our services while focusing
on quality, safety and patient experience.”
He noted that the hospital’s efforts are supported by the highest
industry accolades, including its recent “A” Safety Grade
from The Leapfrog Group, for which Jupiter Medical Center was the only
hospital in Palm Beach and Martin Counties to receive. This is Jupiter’s
11th “A” rating since the fall of 2018. Additionally, Jupiter
Medical Center was the only hospital in Southeast Florida to receive The
Leapfrog Group’s highest annual honor, “Top Hospital,” in 2023.
Dr. Rastogi also shared with the crowd that earlier this year, Newsweek
ranked Jupiter Medical Center as one of the “World’s Best
Hospitals” for 2024. Simultaneously, Forbes ranked the hospital
as the No.1 hospital and No. 5 employer overall in the midsize category
on its “America’s Best Employers 2024” list.
Drs. Du Bois and Sabbah spoke about their areas of specialty – oncology
and cardiology, respectively. In 2020, under Dr. Rastogi’s leadership,
Jupiter Medical Center launched both the Robson Heart & Vascular Institute
and opened the Anderson Family Cancer Institute. Both programs have grown
and evolved by offering the latest treatments, using state-of-the-art
technology, and prioritizing access, such as when the hospital launched
the Next Day program in 2022, committing to seeing newly diagnosed cancer
patients as soon as the day after their diagnosis.
Pam Canter then detailed the hospital’s women’s and children’s
services, including the Florence A. De George Children’s & Women’s
Services obstetrics unit, De George Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and Mastroianni
Family Pediatric Emergency Department. She shared several accolades for
this area, including that Jupiter Medical Center was voted by The Palm
Beach Post readers as “Best Place to Have a Baby” in 2023
and that it received a National Safe Sleep Hospital Certification Program
for its commitment and resources to safe sleep practices for infants less
than one year of age.
